Abstract
The report presents a simulation study of a section of the power supply system for trolleybus transport in the city of Varna, Republic of Bulgaria. The simulation reproduces the existing medium voltage power supply system (MV), rectifier stations, catenary and trolleybuses. The simulation is developed using the parameters of the elements that correspond to the actual existing ones. This includes parameterization of specific power cables for medium voltage, type SAHVT, power transformers 20/0.6 kV, rectifiers with power 1-3 MW, catenary, including actual lengths and cross sections. The main task of the research is to establish the energy parameters, the regimes of electric consumption and electrogeneration in recuperative regimes, efficiency of recuperative energy use. The main type of trolleybuses used are Skoda Solaris 26Tr, and the study focuses on individual work in a section of the catenary, as well as the change of modes of operation of two trolleybuses in a section. The study examines possible motor, braking and inertial modes. The simulation allows the estimation of the modes and voltage levels in the catenary and rectifiers at different driving modes. The developed simulation model allows analysis of the values of power losses and their change, evaluation of the indicators of electricity quality and electromagnetic compatibility. The simulation model can be used for other identical objects of the trolleybus transport, for which it is necessary to perform the appropriate parameterization. The results of the study can be useful for researchers in the field and specialist in practice.
