Abstract
The paper deals with frequency stability simulations for power system disturbances. It presents the equivalent dynamic model of the Continental Europe Synchronous Area which is suitable for assessment of the power system frequency response to a disturbance such as abrupt power deficit in the system. Presented model allows to simulate individual implemented measures with an impact on the dynamic behavior. The paper describes load flow and dynamic input data and shows the process of verifying the model on real events that have occurred in the system. The tuned model can then be used to assess the effectiveness of the implemented measures both in the normal operation state and in the system defense plan. The network simulator MODES is used as a simulation tool.
