Abstract
Modern electric drives have requirements for efficiency, a wide range of speed and torque control, high response, and reliability. Induction drives take the dominant part of drives due to their advantages. For more than thirty years, induction electric drives with direct torque control have been researched, designed and introduced. The article provides an overview of induction electric drives with direct torque control and considers the main methods and means that improve these electric drives and eliminate their main disad-vantages - ripple of torque and currents.
